Nawaz Sharif is the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He has 2 sons and 2 daughters. His sons are not very much interested in politics and thus the mantle of leadership has fallen on his lovely daughter Maryam. She is a Ph D and also holds a masters degree in English as well as being fluent in 4 languages. She is a girl with great charm and has shown her aptitude in politics.
Maryam is now a leader of PML-N.In the April 2012 article in Newsweek magazine in an article commented that she was s the new face of the PML-N political party. Maryam Nawaz has since 1997 been the chairperson of Sharif Trust, founded by her grandfather Muhammad Sharif, Sharif Medical City and Sharif Education Institutes.
She was appointed as Chairperson of the Prime minister youth loan program in November 2013, but many opposed her. Maryam is married, but she is a girl who is making waves in Pakistan politics. though women are discriminated in Pakistan, yet women from the aristocratic society are accepted as leaders like Benazir Bhutto. Thus there is every chance that Maryam will find her feet as the political heir of Nawaz Sharif. she has earlier assisted her father in the elections.
Maryam will perhaps bring a soothing touch to the volatile politics of Pakistan as well curb the Talibanization of Pakistan society. One can only wish her all the best. She could be the progressive face of Pakistan.
Maryam Nawaz’s meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was apparently part of the conscious efforts of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for her slow and steady but apt grooming for a likely future greater political role. i for one wish her all the best
