The Indian Air Chief was Corrupt: its Sad Tale

Air Chief Marshal SP Tyagi is in the news for accepting kickbacks in the recent chopper deal. The allegations are not yet proved in a court of law, but the ex Air Chief has sallied the hallowed uniform worn by a soldier. There is no excuse for this. I remember when I was member of DASI, we had inspected Air force station Adampur in 1993. The AOC at that time was SP Tyagi as an Air Commodore. He struck me as a shift individual at that time itself. All I can hope is that Tyagi is exposed for the good of the thousands who serve honestly. A black sheep like Tyagi cannot be allowed to denigrate the Indian soldier and Armand

Why Muslims do not Celebrate Christmas

The Muslim religion was propounded by Mohammed in the 6th century AD. The Koran which Muslims believe is the word of God forms the basis of the Muslim religion. Both Christianity and Islam have a close affinity in the sense that Muslims consider Jesus as a prophet, but they do not consider him the son of god. The Koran has many passages and stories about the life of Jesus Christ and his teachings. Jesus in Arabic is referred to as Isa and there are many verses regarding him in the Koran. Muslims also believe in the virgin birth of Mary. But despite repeated reference to Jesus and acceptance that he was a messiah, the Muslims do not celebrate Christmas. With the passage of time the Muslim feelings have hardened against Christianity and for centuries there has been a perpetual conflict between Islam and Christianity. The Crusades and the Holy wars that led to the spread of Islam more by the sword than any other means, the position against Christianity has hardened. The situation has reached the Nadir with Christians being refused permission to practice their religion in Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia as well as barred from spreading the gospel in these Islamic nations. It is a matter of wonder that the Koran which accepts Jesus as a prophet does not allow his followers to preach or pray or observe their rituals in Islamic countries. Even in so called ‘secular’ countries like Egypt and Pakistan many hurdles are put in the path of Christians. One can recall that a few years back the Bishop of Lahore committed suicide as he wished to highlight to the world the plight of Christians in Pakistan. The Coptic Christians in Egypt have long felt discrimination against them from the ruling Muslims. Though nowhere does the Koran mention or pass any injunction that the birth day of Jesus should not be celebrated, yet no Muslim will celebrate Christmas. One of the basic reasons for this non observance of Christmas is that Muslims do not consider Jesus to be the son of god. The Koran clearly mentions that God cannot have a son as he is omnipotent and pure and has no animal like qualities. The Koran is explicit on this definition and there are many verses that mention the qualities of god. Thus Muslims believe that God cannot have a son, but only a messenger and Mohammed was his messenger. Another reason is that Muslims do not believe that Jesus was born on 25 December. The date of 25 December in Islam is associated with pagan rights. The new testament as per Islam was written about 300 years after the death of Jesus and thus cannot be considered sacrosanct. Muslims also do not believe that god can be inside a location or icon. They are firmly of the view that Jesus was a prophet, but he is below Mohammed in spiritual level, as he was only a prophet while Mohammed was a messenger of god. Thus Jesus is on a lower plane and though the Koran recognizes Christians as ‘Children of god’, yet anything that goes against the grain of Islam cannot be tolerated. Islam is a rigid religion and the fact that Mohammed slaughtered his prisoners after the battle of Badr and the killing of 800 boys and men at Qurayza shows that Islam is incompatible with any other religion. With this base it stands to reason that no Muslim can celebrate Christmas. The positions are now more hardened and with a resurgent Islam and the dream of an Islamic caliphate, the question that Muslims will ever celebrate Christmas, just does not arise.

Abu Dhabi's Grand Mosque is a monument of Great Beautu

I spent the last month on a holiday at Abu Dhabi and I was impressed by the strides in development made by the small Muslim state. The best part was the complete absence of any Wahhabi concept and one could sit in luxury bars and enjoy a peg of scotch at any time. There was freedom of dress and no signs of any repression. There is also a large Gurudwara and Church plus a Hindu temple in existence and thousands flock for worship. But the place that caught my attention was the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Built of white marble with gold plated domes the mosque shines in the sunlight and at night it is flood lit, creating an aura of a place out of this world. the mosque is huge and can at one go seat 41000 devotees for prayers. It is modeled on the Badshahi mosque of Lahore and is a monument of great beauty. The Mosque has the worlds largest hand woven carpet, which the guides tell you took 2 years to knit. Inside the mosque there are lovely chandeliers and motifs on the walls. The mosque is testimony to the ruler of Abu Dhabi who conceived the idea and commissioned it in 2007. there is no doubt that it's a mosque that has been built with love and care. It is also extremely well maintained and for non Muslims a burkha is available to don before entering the mosque. I can say that no visit to Abu Dhabi can be complete without paying a visit to the Grand Mosque.

Kushwant Singh's Immortal Work'Train to Pakistan'

Kushwant Singh is a well known Indian writer in English. In a career spanning almost 5 decades Kushwant has churned out novels, books, short stories and history books as well as columns on almost every concievable subject. His most famous novel is 'Train to Pakistan' which has also been made into film. The book is one of Kushwants finest work and is centered on the partition of India in 1947 and the animosity of the Hindus and Sikhs vs the Muslims. An undercurrent of the book is a love afair of a Sikh youth named Jagga with a Muslim girl in his village , whom he impregnates. Kushwant brings alive the horrors of partition and the famous train massacres indulged in by the two communities. The prose is simple and the story line can remind you of Harold Robbins. Its a fine book and I will recommend all readers of this blog to get hold of a copy and read the novel. It will be an afternoon well spent.

How Hitler Controlled the battle of France

The Battle of France is one of the biggest victories of the Wehermacht and a feather in the cap of Hitler. In 42 days the German Army overwhelmed the French and British forces and 1.9 million French soldiers became POWs. Hitler controlled the battle from his bunker known as Falsenenest (Rocky Eyrie). This was located near Bad Munstereifel close to Aachen. It is a small town with a population of about 19,000. The Falsenenest had 4 rooms and was bomb proof. Compared to Hitler’s other war headquarters it was small, but from here Hitler directed the campaign against France. At 0300 am he is reported to have reached Falsenenest and straightaway went to the operations room which contained a large map with dispositions of the German troops. From here he was in direct communication with Field marshal Von Rundstedt the overall commander of the western front. Hitler had himself worked out the plan of battle though he consulted Field Marshals' Von Manstein and Heinz Guderian as well. Credit cannot be denied to Hitler for the victory in the battle of France.
Art 0400 am on orders of Hitler the German war machine began to roll and an invasion of the Low Countries commenced. Hitler copied the Schiffillian plan and put it to good effect. In the war room with Hitler were his staff officer and two generals of the OKW namely Field Marshal Keitel and Field Marshal Jodl. (Both were hanged for war crimes at Nuremburg in 1946). Falsenenest had all the latest communication facilities and Hitler could monitor the movement of his army on the Western front. For the record 10 Panzer regiments and 136 infantry divisions took part in this operation. This was the only occasion Hitler used Falsenenest and later it was never used, but its connection with the battle of France will remain for ever.

Oral sex and its Compatibility with Hindu Tantra

Oral Sex or Cunnilingus’/ fellatio is a part of the sexual technique in Hindu Tantra. Though the Kama sutra is mostly silent on oral sex, yet the art of sex as interpreted in Tantra gives it great importance. Tantra as explained by the teachers is a slow exploration of the body and the path to God. Hence one can conclude by inference that oral exploration and sex with your partner will be high on the agenda.

Tantric philosophy brings out the fact that any search for knowledge is part of our everyday life and sex is part of it. It points out that the senses that include touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing have all a great part to play in the path to eternal bliss. Thus sensuality and sexuality will need all your senses to be harnessed as they are significant parts of tantra. Hence a lover must be aware of his and his partner’s body in all its details .

As part of this technique the worship of the woman's sex is of great importance. This can be done with your tongue and lips. Good oral sex or cunilingus is a technique and needs to be mastered. The aim is sexual awakening and the lover must concentrate on the clitoris which is the most sensitive part of a woman body. It is best to be gentle and soft and treat it like a rose. Brush it lightly with your lips and then circle it with your tongue. Stimulate it slowly and then lick the entire length of it till the cavorting of the thighs of your partner shows that you are the winner.

Lick it with long rasping strokes and savor the delight of the arousal of your partner. Lastly make it a point to insert your tongue inside the woman. This is an expression of love and enter her slowly and then see how much of your tongue can enter her. This is a penance and needs to be done for a build up to ultimate moment. Sex is an elevating experience and it should be matter of satisfaction and gratification. Never for a moment forget that all this build up is part of Tantra sex for the achievement of salvation and coming close to god.

Why Men Desire other Women

Through out history one fact stands out as a constant factor is women. The victor always claimed women as a prize. In fact a woman in some cases was prized more than anything else, even gold and silver. What could be the reason for this ? I feel it is something inherent in a man, in other words it is in his genes. This is the nature that despite all regulations and laws, like monogamy, mans desire for another woman is not diminshed. Man has a partiicular physiological and emotional buildup.
It is intersting to know that the volume of sperms produced by a man as a ratio to his body weight is double than other mammals. This aspect also needs to be kept in mind. In fact man is closer to lion and needs newer partners for sex. In the modern age marriage and monogamy have tried to limit it, but the nature of man is not controlled. There is illicit sex, high divorce rate and many married men maintain liasons. The rich still possess concubines, ony the word is not used.
At the end of the day, it must be realized that man is polygamus by nature. Thus the guilt complex propagated by religion has really no place here. No man should be guilty of feeling that he has sinned in case he has sex outside marriage. In real terms its part of nature and a god given attribute. That is the reason that many places in Europe had lords having the first right to take virginity. Again the rich and powerful have more clout and more women to play with, but that is part of society where Marx becomes zero. The genes in a man guide him to sex with other women. I think its natural and one should not be unduly worried about it.
