Mr. Modi! beTough on these Agitators: this is not the French Revolution

The Punjab farmers have arrogated themselves as a representative of all farmers in India. This is a lie that must be nailed. The Punjab farmers are not independent people and have been instigated by the Congress party and their leader in Punjab ex-maharaja of Patiala Captain Amrinder Singh. I wonder if these farmers realize that they do not represent the mass of farmers from such faraway places as Tamil Nadu and Assam who feel very happy that the new farm laws have been passed.

The animosity of the farmers can be gauged when they refused to partake of lunch provided by the government. This shows their bias against the Modi government because sharing food is a part of Amity and when the farmers refused to have lunch with the government, I think nothing more needs to be said.

Tomorrow any group can start an agitation and either gherao Parliament or surround Delhi and force the government to call Parliament and rescind the laws. This will set a dangerous precedent and India which is already tottering as a nation will just collapse, so Mr. Modi in the best interest of the nation must not accept a single demand of the farmers just because they have surrounded the city of Delhi and of threatening to Quarantine it. It's about time somebody uses the Danda in all similar agitations. India is too big a country for petty people like Amarinder Singh and Rahul Gandhi and they must be put in their place.

Punjab Farmers Agitation Against the Farm LAWS

There is a lot of news these days about the farmers from Punjab having become agitated and started an agitation to block the roads to the capital of India that is New Delhi. There are some points which we must consider. Firstly how do the farmers of Punjab feel that they represent all the farmers of India? We know that 90% of the farmers all over the country from Assam to Kerala not interested in opposing the farm laws. Secondly, the farmers must remember that by starting this agitation and thousands of them congregating outside Delhi the ecological disaster can just be imagined. These farmers would be relieving themselves in the open and that would be the harbinger of greater disease as there are no cleaning facilities available.I wonder if anybody has thought about this aspect.

There is a need for agitators to realize that an ecological balance has to be maintained and if they are going to defecate in the open it's not going to help anybody. One thing is very clear that the farmers have been instigated to carry out these agitations and there is no doubt that the Congress party and Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has a big hand in all this. Captain Amarinder Singh is from the erstwhile royal family of Patiala and it is a matter of regret that this man is indulging in petty politics. He may well remember that those who ride the tiger are eaten by the tiger.

No government in any country can survive if the agitators start agitations and expect parliament to change laws, especially as they are only a fringe of the entire farmer population. The need of the hour is to deal with this agitation firmly for the good of India. When I think of such foolish agitations I cannot help saying that the chance of India becoming a great power is almost zero and one can die laughing on a bed of nails thinking about it.

Abbas ALI Baig: Repeatedly kissed at the Brabourne `Stadium

I must confess that I have not seen the Bombay test in 1959 against the Australian team led by Richie Benaud. My father however saw the test and what I have written is recounted by him. This was the third test of the series and the Indian team was led by GS Ramchand a hard-hitting right-hand batsman and a competent pacer.

The Advent of Abbas Ali Baig

The Indian team included a young man who had made a century on first appearance against England just a season earlier in England when he had hit 112. India had risen from its sick- bed and beaten the Aussies in the Kanpur test due to the bowling effort of Jasu Patel. Thus the series was 1-1 as both the teams came to Bombay.

Ramchand won the toss and India batted. But Davidson in an inspired spell clean bowled Pankaj Roy and had Polly Umrigar caught in the slips and the score read 21-2.

Abbas Ali Baig stepped in and along with Contactor who hit 108 helped India to a total of 289. Baig made 53. Baig in particular made a tremendous impression as he deftly handled the Aussie attack.

Australia now batted and declared at 387 for8 and India came into bat. At the end of the day (4th) Roy and Contractor had seen India to 92-0. The last day dawned and people thought that India could easily draw the game, but alas both the openers were dismissed and India was in a precarious 109 for4, The aghast crowd was silent as they saw India sliding to another familiar defeat.

The Kissing Episode

However, Abbas Ali Baig played a stellar inning of 58, and Ramnath Kenny kept him company as India drew the match. Baig negotiated the pace of Meckiff, swing of Davidson as well as the spin of Richie Benaud with ease. It was a great knock marked by some superb drives to the fence.

When Baig returned to the pavilion a young girl in a frock rushed forward and planted a number of Kisses on Baig. In fact, Vijay Merchant in the Commentators box counted the kisses on the radio in excitement 1, 2, 3. 12...13. it showed the love of the Indian masses for the game of cricket. How else could a 20-year-old girl do such a thing? Anyway, this has never happened after that and Baig will be remembered for this. Inexplicably Baig faded from the scene, but the kissing episode can never be forgotten.

The falcon and the UAE

The Falcon is a majestic bird. It is from the eagle family but is more intelligent and swifter. It can soar to a height of three to four thousand feet and is a carnivorous bird that eyes its prey from a great height and then swoops down on the hapless victim. It has a telescopic sight and can see from great heights even a small animal like a baby hare. The falcon is a prized possession and rich sheiks keep many of them as pets. The falcon cannot however be completely domesticated and given an option will fly away.

I had an opportunity to visit many exhibitions and watching the falcon carefully. I have got at least a dozen photos of which one is published along with this post. The falcon is a hunting bird and lives up to its name. Many fighter squadrons name themselves as "Falcons". The UAE is the home of the falcon and the bird is greatly prized. Owning a few falcons adds to the stature of the locals.

Honolulu in Mumbai: Annexe at the US Club

The United Services Club Annexe is a piece of exotica

Honolulu in Mumbai

The US club at lands end, Colaba is a dream as nestled in pristine surroundings it is almost like a piece of cake from Honululu.

Everybody dreams of Honolulu and it's pristine and exotic beaches, far away in the Pacific. Not many from India can reach this tropical place in the deep Pacific, as firstly it's pretty far, and secondly, the airfare will set you back by a lakh of rupees.

Having said this, I can state with confidence that closer home in Mumbai there is one such place nestled deep in Colaba. It is the United Services Club, a gift of the Raj; that euphemism for British rule. It's like a piece of cake from far away Hunululu and has its own sea frontage on the Arabian Sea with an exotic atmosphere. It can't be otherwise with two lovely bars serving the choicest of wines and a 9 hole golf course, where a long shot with wood could sail the ball into the Sea.

The United Services Club has a lovely promenade abutting the Arabian Sea as it's waves alternatively crash or lap the club edge, depending on high tide or low tide. It has coconut and palm trees and a wide lawn with a dance floor and bars on the edge of the coast.

The sea crashes and it's a relish to have a glass of champagne in such an atmosphere. If you are lucky and have a love, it will kindle desire and something to cherish.

However, there is a fly in the ointment as this is a restricted place and an exclusive joint for military officers and families. But plenty of guests come in and it's worthwhile to cultivate a navy or air force officer to, get an entry to this exotic place. Hats off to the "Goraji", the erstwhile rulers who created such an exotic place in Mumbai.

Why did the Raja of Chittor Show his `wife Padmavati to Allauddin Khilji?

The Enigma of the Raja of Chittor Showing his wife to Allauddin
Image Source - Ranveer Singh Twitter Account

Legend tells us that the Raja of Chittor showed his wife's reflection in a mirror to Allauddin. Was it appeasement or a sign of weakness. It was certainly not bravery and many feel it was an act of cowardice.

The film" Padmavati" is worth a look again. It generated a lot of controversies and people's passions are inflamed in Rajasthan and Gujerat. Allauddin was the Sultan of Delhi, about a thousand miles from Chittor. He was a great soldier and had subdued most of North India. He was rumored to be gay and loved a slave, who later became emperor and launched the Slave Dynasty. The Delhi Sultan also was fond of women and had a harem with many lovely women, both Hindus, and Muslims.

The long and short is, that he coveted the Rani Padmavati for his harem and for this reason marched against Chittor.

The tale relates that when Allauddin reached the gates of Chittor fort, he offered to go away in case the Raja showed his wife to him. He grandly passed the message, that he just wanted to see the queen and then would march back with his army. Was the Raja petrified of Allauddin? Yes, he had a fearful reputation but no historian has said why the Raja agreed to show his wife Rani Padmavati to Allauddin? There is no explanation for it and now we can only make conjectures. Needless to say, that was the period of Purdah and seclusion for women, yet the Raja did the unthinkable and showed his wife's reflection in a mirror to Allauddin.

This act on the face of it is cowardice and in case it took place, one has to sadly conclude that the Raja was dictated by something. Was it fear or dread?. It was not an act of bravery and there is no record of any such incident elsewhere in World history. This will remain a million-dollar question. In the 13th century, it was not routine and one wonders what were the motives of the Raja. He didn't cover himself with glory

A Christian Dating Site

Review of a Christian Dating Site- www.singlesoffaith.com

With the advent of the internet, the world has changed and barriers of contact between people have been erased. Dating sites have made full use of this application of technology and have proliferated. We now have sites catering exclusively to a religious sect like Muslims or sites that represent a particular area like Iran. The Christians are not far behind and a number of Christian dating and marriage sites have mushroomed. One of these sites is www.singlesoffaith.com that caters exclusively to men and women who profess the Christian faith. The 20 best dating sites and apps

Singles Of Faith is a dating site with a difference as it exclusively caters only to Christians and also restricts its membership to residents of the USA. The site was set up in 2000 though it is operational since 1981. The aim of the site is to help Christians find a partner or date for love and marriage. Another aim of the site is to strengthen the bond of the members with the Christian faith. The promoters of the site feel that they are furthering the will of God by doing this. The site's stress is on helping Christians find a partner and with that, in view, the site is a shade cheaper than normal dating sites.

In addition, the membership fees are structured in a way that depends on the number of Christian members within a radius of 200 miles from where you stay. You can sign up for a free or paid membership. As a non paying member you can access the site and the search facility, but will not be able to activate your mailbox to proceed further. However, this facility is a help as you can see how many members are in your area.
Once you become a paid member you can make use of other facilities of the site. Unfortunately, the site has only a mailbox system, unlike other sites. 12 Best Christian Dating Sites (2020) - [DatingNews.com]

The site does not have live chat, instant messenger, or other contact features. This can be considered a drawback. But the site more than makes up for this lacuna by organizing social events across the USA. these are gala affairs where the members can meet the men and women whom they wish to date in flesh and blood. Gays are not accepted.
The stress of the site is on the Christian faith and members will receive articles and write-ups on how to be a good Christian. They will also send you tips on getting the best out of Christianity. The site is at present under up-gradation and prospective members will have to bear some discomfort till it's fully operational. One drawback of the site is that a membership can be canceled in case anybody does not adhere to Biblical principles.

The Chemistry of Black men and White Women

Black men and white women chemistry

Lusting

Lusting is a coarse word and defines a frame of mind. It means as per the dictionary uncontrolled sexual desire. Talking of America which I visit often one realizes, that it is the country where the highest number of rapes takes place in the world. Another facet of American rapes which are not publicized is that overwhelming rapes and abductions of white women are by Blacks and Hispanics. These constitute about 15% of the population yet the lions share of rapes and abductions are by these men.

Another fact that surprised me is to see many white women walking in the arms of black men, some with biracial children. This is a far cry from the days of the KKK when they hunted blacks like wild boars.

Psychology of the Afro-American

It is indeed intriguing to see so many white women with black men. Most famous black personalities have married white women. What could be the reason? Has it something to do with the fact that the black man was a slave for nearly 300 years in America? These are harsh questions, but I suppose many will agree that a black will go out of his way to court a white girl. Also, there seems to be a desire to eat something like forbidden fruit and that could explain the plethora of rapes more than the national average of white women by black men.

The issue is sex and none can deny it. The black man who was subjected to untold indignities by white men, some kept in chains for life and their women raped at will by the Master had to have percussions. It is like the age-old Roman slaves who at the end revolted. Once freedom dawned on the black man he had a desire to eat the forbidden fruit and this led to a desire to possess the white women. Some courted and won them and many just raped and went their way. Probably they had a deep sense of satisfaction in this.

The resurgent black movement and conversions to Islam is the Black man's way of rebelling against a culture that subjugated him for over 3 centuries. It's not right, but something that needs study and evaluation.

Last Word 300 years of slavery and subjugation had to find some expression. Add to this is the fact that only the fittest of the blacks survived, leaving physically fit races. This could be a clue to the black mans attempt to assert himself and maybe rape is an outlet of that.

Tamil Girls, Sex and Nocturnal Devils Covered with Grease

Nocturnal Grease Devils, Sex and Tamil Women in Lanka

Darkness is a cloak that sometimes covers many nefarious activities. One set of events in the northeast of Lanka defies a solution. The fact that it is confined to Tamil women is an enigma. What happened is really weird. Many Tamil women reported that certain men in skimpy underwear prowled at night. These nocturnal men covered with grease and mind you in case you attempt to catch them, your hands will not be able to grip them and these nocturnal visitors will slip away: thanks to the grease smeared on their bodies.

If the grease-covered men now referred to as the "grease devils" were only prowling around, it would still not be that serious. But now reports have come in of women being assaulted in the dead of the night, single women or women staying alone.

Assaulted Tamil Women

Rumors abound in such times and many people swore that two women were attacked and their breasts cut off. Though nobody saw it happen with his own eyes; But a few cases of sex have been reported where the grease-covered men have entered a house and while one man held the arms of the woman the other unraveled her sari with obvious consequences. The enigma is that the assaults seem to only be directed against Tamil women, pointing to the fact that perhaps these grease devils are Sinhalese young men out for a lark with a Tamil girl and resultant fun. Maybe it's a hangover of the civil war, which resulted in the defeat of the extremist Tamils in the form of the LTTE.

My friend rang me up from Lanka and informed me that his maid who was sleeping alone in her house awoke to find two greases covered men hovering over her. While one gagged her and held her by the arms and waist, the other untied her sari and petticoat. On a further question, he could not confirm it. But these acts have allowed rumors to spread and the local Tamils approached the police. They dismissed it as a prank and did not take it seriously

.Mystery of the Grease Devils

In one case the Tamils, after an alarm had been raised ran after two grease-covered devils who escaped into a Lankan Naval base, raising suspicion that these devils are in reality soldiers. But again nothing is proved. There was even a clash with the police and this led to some arrests. But the mystery of the grease-covered devils remains. Wonder who they are, misguided young Sinhalese or soldiers. Nobody is sure. The incidents have died away and not much is heard about the grease devils these days, but the mystery remains.

Mustang is launched in India by Ford: its a Muscle Car

Mustang is launched in India by Ford

America has produced some excellent tracing cars, which are not too pricey. One such car is the Ford Mustang an 8 cylinder car. The car was launched on the road in 1962 and immediately caught the imagination of enthusiasts. Ford motor company is a legendary car company that traces it's pedigree to Henry Ford, the man who launched the commercial model of the motor car.

The car model in a sense is dated, but there have been periodic upgrades. Despite this, the car is extremely popular. It is a wonder why the car was not introduced in India by Ford, but that lacuna is fulfilled with its introduction in the Indian market. The Mustang is named after a racing breed of a horse and lives up to its name. The car comes only in a two-door model. It may have a retractable roof as well. The car is launched at a price of Rs 90 lakhs in Bombay, which is not too steep considering that the Porch and Ferrari can touch Rs 2 crores.

I have owned a Mustang in the UAE and it's a swell car. It races to 200 km an hour in no time and I could do the Abu Dhabi -Dubai run under 2 hours. One advantage was the road. Maybe similar roads will not be available in India, where the concept of the autobahn has not caught on.The Ford Mustang is a 6 or 8 cylinder car with an engine that develops nearly 400 BHP. However it's;s not frugal as far as gas consumption is concerned and does,5/6 km on a liter of gas. There is no diesel version though about 5 variants of the petrol model are available. In India, only one model is launched.

The coupe comes in two versions with a hardtop and a soft top. The soft-top version has a retractable canvas roof. It';s a real pleasure to retract the roof and belt forward at 150 km an hour. The car has automatic climate control as well as a six-speed automatic gearbox. I am not aware of a manual gearbox. The Mustang lives up to its name and image as a beefy sports car. The car's only drawback is the 2 rear seats which can only be accessed by folding the front seat. The seats are low and a little difficult for older citizens. All said and done the Mustang is an asset on Indian roads for Indian motor enthusiasts.

Royal Navy Dismisses 9 Sailors and 2 Officers for Drugs and Sex on board

The Royal Navy is a shadow of the great naval force that ruled the world for 300 years. At that time the adage; "the sun never sets on the British empire "was true and enforced by the power of the navy, which from singing the Spanish mane to Trafalgar and India and China dominated the world. After World War II the emaciated United Kingdom is keeping a minimum deterrent, which is difficult to finance as well.

This force is now beset by new problems of drug abuse and indiscriminate sexual liaisons; between the sexes on board the warships, seriously undermining the security of the United Kingdom. The Stars and Stripes News Paper has reported that when the nuclear-powered submarine HMS Vigilant docked in the US to replenish its stock of Trident nuclear missiles, the crew held rave parties at which drugs flowed freely. A mandatory drug test revealed that nine sailors were positive and these nine have been dismissed. Considering that the submarine has a complement of 11 officers and 121 sailors, dismissing 9 sailors is perhaps the tip of the iceberg. It is inconceivable that only 9 sailors took part in the rave parties.

This was not all and two officers a Commander and Lieutenant Commander have been removed from command for bedding two junior female officers while the warship was on the high seas. These sexual liaisons seriously undermined the discipline and efficacy of the crew and the submarine. In turn, the defense of the UK was in jeopardy. Both the officers have been removed from command though no action is taken against the female crew who slept with the officers. The Defence Minister Micheal Fallon is seriously perturbed at this moral turpitude which has seriously undermined the security of the UK and he has ordered a detailed investigation into the state of affairs aboard all warships of the Royal Navy.

Dalip Singh: The Last Maharajah of Punjab

Maharajah Ranjit Singh ruled Punjab in what is known as Sikh Empire from 1798-1837. He had 11 official wives. His youngest queen was Ran Jindan Kaur who was with child when the Maharajah Ranjit died in 1837. Most queens of Ranjit Singh committed Sati on the funeral pyre, but Ran Jindan because of her condition was spared. Jindan gave birth to Prince Dalip Singh, but he was not crown prince as he had elder brothers.
Duleep Singh - Wikipedia
Within 6 years of Maharajah Ranjit death all his sons were either poisoned or murdered. Thus Dalip Singh by a quirk of fate was crowned Maharajah and his mother became queen regent. Punjab was in unrest and led to wars with the East India Company. Known as Anglo-Sikh war,the Sikh were defeated and Dalip Singh deposed. He was taken away to England and became a ward of Queen Victoria. Later when he grew up, he realized his heritage, but it was too late. He lived an excessive life and died in Paris in 1893. He left behind 1 son and 3 daughters all of whom died childless.

Dalip Singh was not allowed to visit Punjab. He was the last Sikh Maharajah, a tragic figure at that
