Donald Trump: First Man to identify source of terror in the world.

Over the past years many terrorist attacks are taking place. One can recollect the terrorist attacks which were inhuman. In one of the most reprehensible incidents an old 85-year-old French priest was killed with a knife by a Jihadist who claimed allegiance to the Islamic State. The French declared an extension of the state of emergency but did not explicitly stated that the attack is motivated by Islamic fundamentalism. The same thing has happened in Germany. many attacks by extremist lone wolf Muslim migrants has led to revulsion and made the German people think. But Angela Merkel has not identified the source of these attacks as inspired by Muslim extremism. There is thus a marked reluctance to name Islam as a source of terror. The reasons for this are myriad, but lurking behind is the fear that any identification of Islam as a source of terror may create greater bloodshed.

Views of Trump

Donald Trump was President but he lost the last election.He may have lost but he was a different kettle of fish as can be made out by his statements. He differed from the Democratic party whose leaders hesitated to single out Islam as a motivating force for terror attacks.

Donald Trump as president to the chagrin of many clearly stated that Muslims are the source of terror, the world over. He also had praised Saddam Hussein as a man who knew how to deal with Muslim extremists like Al Qaeda. Donald mentioned that Saddam did not read the rule book to the terrorists, but simply hanged them. He was an efficient killer of terrorists. Earlier Donald had said the world was a better place when Gaddafi and Saddam were around. I don't think he can be faulted for this as things in the Middle East were certainly better when the duo of Gadafi and Saddam was around.

Donald also stated that he would take on Islamic fundamentalism head-on. He would debar Muslims from entering the USA till they proved their bonafide's. He would also take the battle to the sanctuaries of the extremists and destroy them. He would mete out the same treatment to the Muslim extremists or Jihadists as they meted out to their non-Muslim prisoners. These are strong statements and many in the USA were against this rhetoric, but the common American identified with Donald.

The future

Nobody can forecast the future. Donald has lost and Biden is president.

However, Trump raised cogent issues and like or dislike, what he has stated cannot be brushed under the carpet. Many claimed Trump was a man with little knowledge and some even have referred to him as a buffoon. This is a sad commentary on the American people and means that half the American people support a buffoon? Not likely and this propaganda must be shelved as unworthy of a reply. All said and done, Donald was the first man in the west to identify the source of terror, and that by itself is not a mean feat.

Sex and abduction crimes are too many in USA

America is the land of milk and honey and every educated Indian wants to go to the "new world" and settle there. Many are a now bit wary of the prevalence of crime particularly with regard to abductions, kidnappings for sex which now dominate the scene. The worst part of this entire scene is that tens of such crimes go undetected, which is a sad commentary on the efficacy of the FBI and the local US police. It is unfortunate that the FBI which is the nodal agency for interstate crimes like kidnapping and abduction is unable to trace girl victims for years. One wonders as to how an agency with the latest gadgetry is unable to detect such crimes. One could perhaps accept this with a pinch of salt, but the fact that so many girls are missing for years is, to say the least preposterous.

A look at some of the crimes makes sad reading. There was the case of a man, a Hispanic who kidnapped 3 girls and kept them in a small dungeon under his house. The girls were kept secluded as they were used to pleasure the man and he also fathered a child from one of them. The worst thing was that the girls have been kept in a house a little distance from where they were abducted. Only after the passing of a few years one of the girls could escape from the underground chamber and alert the police, who raided the house and arrested the man. What a travesty of the police word, as such an elite force could not discover the girls who were just a few hundred yards from where they were kidnapped. The police have a lot to answer, but in America, nobody is asking any questions of the police and I don't find any NGO or other group posting any questions to the police. This is not an isolated incident, but there are tens of such cases.

Reminds me of another case where a 13-year-old was given to a man as compensation for financial favors and he also kept her and another girl for years till a neighbor alerted the police. All have been arrested including the mother of the girl. One wonders whether the police have a mechanism to check houses or only believe in driving around the roads in swank cars or Harley Davidson bikes on the road. They are trigger happy, but their detection of crime is, to say the least poor.

One problem that confronts America is race and the police are severe on the black man, but a white is likely to getaway. This is because the US police have racial blinkers. Yet, the rape cases are the highest in the world and so are abductions and kidnappings for sex. Many whites do it and get away for years till the law catches up with them. There needs to be a focused investigation by the police and I have a feeling that after a few months, a kidnapped girl's case remains on file as the police go after newer cases. Thus so many kidnappings go unsolved, which does not speak highly of a professional force.

Considering that the US has the largest instances of rape in the world, this apathy, and low criminal convictions is again something that has to be explained. Perhaps the approach of the public also needs to change as can be seen by a sentence of 6 months jail for a man. It turned out that the boy was a champion swimmer and that was a condoning factor, which again is very sad. The boy was raping an unconscious girl on the roadside, till passers by apprehended him.I think such cases and convictions contribute more to the crime scene in the US. This apathy towards rapists and kidnappers has in a way percolated to the police and the result is more unsolved crimes. The case usually becomes just a number in the record books, but the girl's life is irretrievably destroyed.

It is about time the US police and public did some soul searching and streamlined their procedures and actions. Let's see if there will be a change, but I doubt it.

Many Pirs are also hereditary and the son becomes the Pir after the demise of the father. The father is supposed to pass all his wisdom to his son who is then ordained as the Pir.

The hold of the Pir over Muslims is almost hypnotic and I will add that many Hindus also follow Pirs. However one of the facets of life in India and Pakistan in the countryside is the almost blind faith in the Pir. He is supposed to have direct communion with Allah and people believe that all their ills will be solved by the Pir.

The Pir in the 21st century may look like an anachronism, but even in this century and age, he wields tremendous hold over his village flock. Some Pirs become famous and people from great distances travel to get the blessing of the Pir.

A strange story about the powers of a Pir has emerged from Pakistan. What was the news? A Muslim Pir has been arrested by the police after it came to light that the man had impregnated over 300 married women.

In Pakistan to be childless is a sin and a greater sin is not having a son and only daughters. This is a hangover of a feudal setup and it's very much prevalent in both India and Pakistan. This Pir propagated that any woman who could not conceive or wanted a son could come to him and he would intercede with Allah and grant the wish of the woman.

Women who craved a son went to the Pir for his blessings. At home, they were harassed and sometimes beaten for not begetting a son. Such women were emotional wrecks and when they met the Pir he charmed them with his magnetism. After a few meetings, he would invariably take the woman to a back chamber where he had a luxurious bed to which he referred as the 'Noor bed.' There he would have repeated sex with the women.

It so transpired that a few women had sons and they divulged, that this was due to the power of the Pir. They did not mention the fact of sleeping with the man on the Noor bed. Eager to have a son many other women also started to go to the Pir to seek his blessings. The man was young and virile and in the name of Allah he copulated with over 300 women and impregnated them. The women some of who were childless were obviously delighted to have a child and they spread the word about the power of the Pir. The fact that they had been sleeping with the man was not announced and remained a secret. The Pir continued and more women some of who came from great distances gave themselves to the man.

This continued for some months till someone expressed his apprehensions to the Police. Hearing that the police were coming, the Pir ran away but was arrested.

The question now was as to what charge to frame against the Pir. No woman was willing to come forward and accuse the Pir of rape and the Police were wondering how to prosecute the Pir. In addition in case, they tried him under the Hooded ordinance, then as per the Sharia, there is a requirement of 4 eyewitnesses. This is impossible in this case and man was given bail. The charges anyway did not proceed further.

I have been wondering if a statistic could be worked out as to how many of the 300+ women had male children. However, one fact that stands out is the Pirs and holy men have a hypnotic effect on the people of the sub-continent. My Muslim friend from Lahore has given me a revolutionary opinion. She has said that the Pir must be complimented as he gave a child to a childless woman and thus saved her life from cruelty and beatings in rural Pakistan.

Making Tender Coconut Water from Coconut Powder

Friends, I would like to introduce you to a new drink. It is in real fact coconut powder that can be transferred into delicious tender coconut water. My friend suggested this to me as sometimes Coconuts or not available where I stay. I bought this with great apprehension but I was absolutely delighted. The powder comes in small sachets and all you have to do is to add water to it. You have to be careful to add only the correct quantity of water and that is 200 ml. Nice to keep the measuring glass nearby and the powder is poured into the glass and then you can add cold water and stir it thoroughly. Low and behold you have wonderful coconut water to drink which is as close to the nearest thing as possible. I am happy that I tried it.

Going for a Dhow Cruise in Abu Dhabi and Barbeque Dinner

One of the trademark visits in a holiday in the desert is the Safari and the Dhow cruise. The Dhow cruise costs 200 Dirhams per person (About $50). We booked in advance and were joined by a friend couple for the cruise. The Dhow is the old Arabian Sea-going vessel. But now these are more modern.
The dhow cruises of the coast of Abu Dhabi and it’s a pleasant ride as one sees the beautiful lights of the city. A barbecue dinner is served which is sumptuous. Wine and whiskey are also available on payment. My girl had a glass of red wine and I drank a couple of pegs of Chivas Regal.

After the dinner, there was a male dance by a Bedouin followed by a belly dancer. The girl was from Lebanon and very young. She did a wonderful dance. The Dhow docked back at the Marina and we drove home after a wonderful evening.
