One of the trademark visits in a holiday in the desert is the Safari and the Dhow cruise. The Dhow cruise costs 200 Dirhams per person (About
$50). We booked in advance and were
joined by a friend couple for the cruise. The Dhow is the old Arabian Sea-going
vessel. But now these are more modern.
The dhow cruises of the coast of Abu Dhabi and it’s a pleasant ride as one sees
the beautiful lights of the city. A barbecue dinner is served which is sumptuous.
Wine and whiskey are also available on payment. My girl had a glass of red wine and I drank a couple of pegs of Chivas Regal.
After the dinner, there was a male dance by a Bedouin
followed by a belly dancer. The girl was from Lebanon and very young. She did a
wonderful dance. The Dhow docked back at the Marina and we drove home after a
wonderful evening.
