The Pir who Impregnated over 300 Women

The Pir's are much revered in India and Pakistan. I have been following a Pir for almost 25 years from my youth and he is a man of god. Many Pirs are also hereditary and the son becomes the Pir after the demise of the father. The father is supposed to pass all his wisdom to his son who is then ordained as the Pir. 

The hold of the Pir over Muslims is almost hypnotic and I will add that many Hindus also follow Pirs. However one of the facets of life in India and Pakistan in the countryside is the almost blind faith in the Pir. He is supposed to have direct communion with Allah and people believe that all their ills will be solved by the Pir.

The Pir in the 21st century may look like an anachronism, but even in this century and age, he wields tremendous hold over his village flock. Some Pirs become famous and people from great distances travel to get the blessing of the Pir.

 A strange story about the powers of a Pir has emerged from Pakistan. What was the news?  A Muslim Pir has been arrested by the police after it came to light that the man had impregnated over 300 married women. 

In Pakistan to be childless is a sin and a greater sin is not having a son and only daughters. This is a hangover of a feudal setup and it's very much prevalent in both India and Pakistan. This Pir propagated that any woman who could not conceive or wanted a son could come to him and he would intercede with Allah and grant the wish of the woman.

Women who craved a son went to the Pir for his blessings. At home, they were harassed and sometimes beaten for not begetting a son. Such women were emotional wrecks and when they met the Pir he charmed them with his magnetism. After a few meetings, he would invariably take the woman to a back chamber where he had a luxurious bed to which he referred as the 'Noor bed.' There he would have repeated sex with the women. 

It so transpired that a few women had sons and they divulged, that this was due to the power of the Pir. They did not mention the fact of sleeping with the man on the Noor bed. Eager to have a son many other women also started to go to the Pir to seek his blessings. The man was young and virile and in the name of Allah he copulated with over 300 women and impregnated them. The women some of who were childless were obviously delighted to have a child and they spread the word about the power of the Pir. The fact that they had been sleeping with the man was not announced and remained a secret. The Pir continued  and more women some of who came from great distances gave themselves to the man.

This continued for some months till someone expressed his apprehensions to the Police. Hearing that the police were coming, the Pir ran away but was arrested.

The question now was as to what charge to frame against the Pir. No woman was willing to come forward and accuse the Pir of rape and the Police were wondering how to prosecute the Pir. In addition in case, they tried him under the Hooded ordinance,  then as per the Sharia, there is a requirement of 4 eyewitnesses. This is impossible in this case and man was given bail.  The charges anyway did not proceed further.

I have been wondering if a statistic could be worked out as to how many of the 300+ women had male children. However, one fact that stands out is the Pirs and holy men have a hypnotic effect on the people of the sub-continent. My Muslim friend from Lahore has given me a revolutionary opinion. She has said that the Pir must be complimented as he gave a child to a childless woman and thus saved her life from cruelty and beatings in rural Pakistan.

I want to state an obvious fact that most men like me, covet and seek out younger attractive women for a relationship. Why? I really have no answer but maybe, after all, it’s a simple answer. As far as I am concerned I do seek the company of younger women and I guess the answer is in one-word biology. One reason is that for men the biological clock is different. I recollect reading somewhere that Anthony Quinn the Hollywood star had a child at 82. Not possible for a woman.

Despite some people sneering at older men and younger women in a relationship, the fact is many younger women marry older men it’s again a biological need.
Frankly, as I am not a woman, I can’t write from the women’s angle. But I suppose all relationships can only take place if there is mutual attraction and sexual desire. So at the end of the day, the woman must like the man and that is the bottom line.

I make no apologies for the fact that many younger women have accepted me as a partner. Maybe it's love, I can’t say. But I see nothing wrong with it. All I can say is that many younger women accept me and it’s not for money for I don’t have much.

Adultery and the Islamic Solution

Adultery is as old as history of man. Over the centuries, adultery is one trait that has survived and will perhaps never go away. It is safe to say that though polygamy has become outdated in most of the world, adultery still thrives.

Islam has its own solution for adultery. This is the reason that adultery is severely punished in Islam. The punishment for sex outside marriage is death by stoning. Islam has however its own solution for adultery. It allows a man to have upto 4 wives. Divorce for the man is also simplified and a man can divorce a wife easily and marry again, so as to remain within the ambit of 4 wives. Thus a man  can have  variety in his sex life and chance of adultery is almost zero.

However there is a catch in this, as the laws are weighted in favor of man. Perhaps it is a recognition that man by nature is polygamus. Islam has recognised this peculair trait of a mans makeup. Many will not agree with this, but almost 30% of the world is following Islam.

Man's Second Nature

Throughout history of man there are millions of cases of men having more than one wife. By inference man also shares his emotion of love with more than one woman. Man’s history also records that women in most cases accept their fate and continue loving the man though he may shower his affection on another woman. In contrast there are very few recorded cases of women loving and marrying more than one man.

In history the solitary example is of the Princess Draupadi in the Mahabharata who married the 5 Pandva brothers name Yudhistra, Arjuna, Bhima, Nakula and shehdeva. These 5 had one father but 2 mothers with the first 3 Yudhistra, Arjuna and Bhima being from one queen and the other 2 from the younger queen. This marriage to the 5 brothers was also not the norm, but a requirement of the mother of the Pandva's who had asked her sons to promise they would share everything together. Probably when the Queen Kunte made her sons promise this she did not visualize marriage, but the sons interpreted this as applicable to marriage as well and when Arjuna won Draupadi in a swayamwara (marriage contest) as per their oath to the mother Arjuna informed Draupadi that he could not marry her alone as they had promised their mother that she would have to marry all of them. The Mahabharata does not record what Draupadi felt, but she did conceive from each of the 5 brothers. This is an exception and not the norm.

The society at large has accepted this facet of man of desiring more than one woman. Islam has codified this in the marriage laws which permit 4 wives and any number of temporary wives or Mutta marriages. It has also simplified divorce, but only for the man so that he can take another woman as wife to remain in the ambit of 4 wives. Women have no say in this mater.

In Hinduism there is no mention of monogamy. The Laws of Manu are a complex set of rules but they permit a Hindu man to take a second wife. It was only in 1955 when the Hindu Marriage act was passed by the Indian parliament under the aegis of Jwaharlal Nehru that marriage was restricted to one wife. This act also gave some rights to women and they could also file for divorce.

Christian religion in particular the Catholic faith is the most rigid in this aspect. Divorce is not allowed and the norm of one man and one wife is accepted for many centuries. But this is the ecclesial position as in practice divorce in the west is much easier than in the east and correspondingly men can take other wives. Even in Catholic dominated countries the incidence of infidelity is very high, much more than in the east and it is not uncommon to love another woman though she may not be your wife.

These are the facts, but there is a physiological aspect to this. Man is a male and an advanced mammal with a highly functional brain. He also does not age and can continue loving a woman till well past his prime. Hence the adage that “Horses and men don’t age” holds true biologically as well. Man by his mental makeup can never be satisfied with one woman all his life. There are cases of lifelong monogamy, but than many hide their true feelings and live alive of ‘morality’. Somehow the deep impact of religion has looked upon sex as something aberrant and correspondingly man is conditioned by this. It was only the Hindu religion that recognized the power of sex and incorporated the Tantra sex which is claimed as a path to salvation.

In everyday life man has diverse interests, much more than a woman and as such it is in his mental make up to love women. Most men are capable of loving more than 2 women and also emotionally bonding with them. This is a mental makeup of the women and by nature as social scientists have noted man is polygamous. Women on the other hand are mentally attuned to one man and some can feel g hurt at the intrusion of another woman in their life. However thousands accept this, as it is a part of their psyche. Man all over the world is the same and it will not be an understatement to state that this is god’s way of regulating life and should not be treated as an aberration.

Inter religious marriage

Lust is a word that means intense or unrestrained sexual craving. Sometimes the word does look vulgar or coarse but it defines a mindset that is dictated by desire and temptation. All over India and Pakistan the one fact that stands out is the number of Hindu girls with Muslim men has husbands. In Pakistan it takes a bizarre form with about 20-25 Hindu girls being kidnapped every month in Sind province and forcibly converted and married to Muslim men. In India there is no coercion but any numbers of Hindu girls marry Muslims. Even the film stars are into it and the most famous present day heroine Karina Kapoor is marrying a Muslim star who has 2 grown up children.

I began to wonder why this is so after all just a few decades the Muslims and Hindus did not have much of intermarriages. Before independence and the advent of the Raj, the Muslims were the rulers and they could have their pick of Hindu girls. Even the warrior Timur selected 200 of the most beautiful Hindu girls for his harem. But it all ended with the Raj and independence.

So frankly I am intrigued to see so many Hindu girls marrying Muslim men. The contrast is stark as in all cases the Hindu girls convert to Islam. This is mandatory and is something that happens, but I suppose there is very little coercion involved, except in Pakistan where the situation is entirely different. I wonder what could be the psychology behind these marriages.

Love Jihad

Obviously there is some background to it. One thing that strikes me is loss of power by the Muslims the Hindu girls became unattainable. So the Muslim men with a not a little encouragement from the Mullahs began to assiduously woo Hindu girls. The idea was to win them over and marry them and beget children. It’s like a victory in battle, after all in ancient wars the women were the prize.

These are harsh thoughts, but I suppose there is some truth in it. Thus the Muslim man will go out of his way to court a Hindu girl. What about the Hindu girl? There is a new found freedom given by independent India and the Hindu girl is exercising it to the hilt. One manifestation is these marriages. In contrast the reverse of Muslim girls marrying Hindu boys is just a trickle. Rigidity in Islam is intense?

Brooks relates Martyn's philosophy of life. He goes deep into the mind of the boy as Martyn tells the reader his concept of dreams. He feels demons are there but are created by the mind itself. Psychologists agree with Martynâ's interpretation of dreams as they often help them understand people. It's interesting that Martyn only talks about demons in dreams.

Kevin Brooks is an English writer who published his first novel Martyn Pig in 2003. Born in 1959 Exeter, Devon, Brooks studied Psychology and Philosophy at Birmingham, Aston University. Later he attended Cultural Studies in London in 1983.
After getting his degree Kevin worked at odd jobs like  , gasoline station attendant, crematorium handyman, civil service clerk, hot dog vendor at the London Zoo, post office clerk, and railway ticket office clerk. These varied jobs and his education with psychology as major has equipped him to write about psychological aspects of his characters.
Kevin Brooks in his novel Martyn Pig explores the psychology of a teenager who is feels his life cannot get worse. To start with the boy is named Martyn Pig, which by itself makes him feel bad
Brooks relates that Martyn’s life is miserable. The boy has lost his mother and his father hates him. Things go from bad to worse when his father dies in an accident and Martyn is face to face with a dilemma. He has the choice to go and stay with his Aunt Jean or he can do something different and live his own life,

Brooks relates Martyn’s philosophy of life. He goes deep into the mind of the boy as Martyn tells the reader his concept of dreams. He feels demons are there but are created by the mind itself.Kevin also relates that Martyn is mad about his neighbour, Alex a young smart girl. The fact that she is dating another boy is another source of tension for him. He persuades Alex to help him dispose of his father’s body. This act with Alex leads to more twists, turns and deception. Alex is the most complicated character in the book. She has her own plan for the money. In this Kevin explores the mind of a teenager and dreams of money.
Psychologists agree with Martyn’s interpretation of dreams as they often help them understand people. It's interesting that Martyn only talks about demons in dreams. He does not relate dreams to good things like wish fulfilment or happy visions. He leads a solitary life and feels a person cannot trust others. This again brings forth the psychology of a teenager conditioned by unhappiness.

Martyn believes that a person can change his circumstances, in case he has money. He feels money will help him and Alex live happily. This shows the simplistic approach to life in a teenagers mind. The entire story and life of Martyn’s is colored by his love of mystery novels and television shows. This is again the ingredients that mould the mind of a teenager. This is the psychology of a teenager which zeroes on short term goals.

 Right from childhood, Kevin Brooks was fond of reading detective novels.  This interest is translated to his books .Most of the plots of his books revolve around crime fiction.  His books have elements of mystery and suspense which help shape the theme of his novels.  He has won the Angus Book Award and was nominated for the Carnegie Medal in Literature, Guardian Children's Fiction Prize and Edgar Award for Best Young Adult. Tantra Sex: relevance to Buddhism and Hinduism

What is Tantra ?

Tantra is a facet of Hindu and Buddhist thought and the subject of many books.  Tantra has a connotation with sex and that is part of both these great faiths. 'Tantra' is a Sanskrit word and has many meanings. One of the meanings is growth and enlightenment. Obviously this aspect of Hindu thought means that it refers to the achievement of inner peace and salvation through sex. Many Catholics consider Tantra sex as Satanic in nature, but it is not so and really means that there are many paths to God.

Study of Tantra

The origins of Tantra and its earliest practices have been shrouded in Mystery and have existed for thousands of years. The earliest texts on Tantra require a deep study and proper interpretation as they cover all aspects of human life like health, belief, philosophy, sex, pleasure and God.

Western society has learnt about Tantra only in the 20th century and this has focused mainly on sex. But Tantra covers many other aspects of life as well including meditation and prayer, all interlinked with sex.  Tantra advocates a different form of sex, where the stress is not on orgasm, but on something more sublime like a dream and an attempt to prolong the pleasure and in the bargain get closer to the almighty.

Tantra Practice

Tantra sex is revealing your innermost feelings to your partner with the aim of a total union. It is not like a bullet fired from a gun which after it is fired loses its potency, but something deeper that can awaken the inner feelings and heighten the union with your partner.  Just imagine how wonderful sex is if you can dream with your partner and at the same time spend hours in a sublime embrace that can only make you happier.

There is nothing taboo in Tantra and it would be appropriate to consider the body as a temple and worship it accordingly. In the early fifties a respected Doctor named Ward was charged with living off the earnings of prostitution. Dr. Ward was arrested, but the details that emerged brought out that Dr Ward believed he was doing good by trying to unite the world with sex.

 Dr Ward thus would organise sex parties and orgies where participants copulated to fulfillment. Thus blacks mated with white women and many famous personages became sex slaves of beautiful young women prostitutes. The War Minister John Profuma began a torrid love affair with a girl called Christine Keeler. Many other senior government officials and politicians began sexual liaisons with young girls, half or one third their ages.

Dr Ward had the naive belief that in effect he was uniting the world.When a man and a woman copulate, its a frenzy and passion and the greatest joy on earth. But its not so simple as emotions like jealousy and hatred come to fore. This charade of sex for unity had to burst. The police broke in and Dr ward was arrested and John Profuma had to resign.

Come to think of it , love is a great unifier, but just plain sex is an animal instinct. Dr Ward misread this and finally committed suicide. Maybe he was 4 generations ahead of this concept.

One of the writers who I greatly admire is the Italian writer Alberto Moravia (1907-1990). Moravia lived through tumultuous times and has stark memories of the Fascists and Benito Mussolini. The Fascists were always against him and during the war years he wrote under a pseudonym. After 1943, with Mussolini weakening and the fascists almost dead Moravia emerged again in the limelight

Moravia’s popularity soared after the war. His works which had an explicit sexual slant were greatly appreciated.  I have read his “Time of Indifference”, “Women of Rome” and the “Empty Canvas”. These are books that can engross any reader, whatever period he may live in.Moravia brought out the sexual nature of life in Italy, where despite the strict Catholic church bigamy, mistresses and liaisons with the ‘Other woman’ flourished.

Moravia married novelist Elsa Morante in 1936 and wrote at least a 100 books.He separated from her and married a younger model in 1963. Perhaps living with a younger model or girl is the source of inspiration of great writers. Even Picasso loved younger women. 

 His novel “A Ghost at Noon” is rated as one of the 100 greatest books by Le Monde. I really relish his writings even now though his age is long past.

Some books  are to savoured, some tasted and some studied deeply, but some books are a fleeting pastime. One such book is "Mistress". It is written by an unknown author and so obviously labelled as anonymous. But its a book that is worth a read in case your forte is erotic tales like me.

The story surrounds a haughty mistress who is of course very lovely. She repeatedly spurns her lover till he finally decides on a ruse to make her capitulate and give herself to him. He makes an elaborate plan and lures her to a chamber where he ties her with silken cords and then proceeds to gently love her as ordained in the Kamasutra with tongue and caresses. The lady is overwhelmed and submits to her lover and the bonds are removed as they make ferocious love.

Feminists will find this book a little difficult to understand as it brings out the age old art of seduction and that a women if assiduously wooed will end up in the arms of her admirer. The best way to bring the pride of a woman down is to pleasure her. I wonder how many will believe in this.

All this is watched by the maid who is also seduced by the gentleman. It finally ends in a threesome and that can be titillating to read, but in practice will need great stamina. Its a nice book and a pastime when you have an hour to while away. Read it, it will do a man a world of good.

Women are the un-safest in the United States

America is a great democracy, though flawed, yet in a way it allows people to articulate their feelings and desires. this is unheard of in many other countries like say China and worse in the Middle East. Despite this I am afraid that women in America are at the greatest risk than at other places. One would assume with free intermingling of the sexes and freedom of sexual intercourse between consenting adults, crimes against women would be less or negligble. Yet America leads the world in abduction of women for sex and rapes abound. The centre piece of these crimes is the Hispanic and the Black.

The Negro in particular is sexually strong having devolped as per Darwins theory of evolution and survival of the fittest. He takes his sexual urges against the white women who constitute the majority in the USA. Rape of white women by blacks is much above the national average of rape in USA. Another point is the spate of abductions and the police despite riding on Harley's and sporting guns are pretty ineffectual to nab the abductors.

Many young white girls have been abducted and made into sex slaves and the police have not been able to unravel the crimes for many years. This is sad and points to a dangerous lacuna in law and its enforcement.

I have been wondering about crimes against women in the USA. I have visted the USA often and have had excellent relationships with American white girls and women some of who are friends even now. I just cannot fathom why should rapes and abductions of white girls be so high in the USA.

Tantric Sex, Hinduism and Acharya Rajneesh

The Path to Eternal Bliss Acharya Rajneesh was a very brilliant man. He was a professor of Philosophy at Jabalpur University before his inner voice took him away from the teaching profession. A reading of his biography’Osho the Luminous Rebel’ by Dr. Joshi reveals that right from his early days Rajneesh had an inquisitive mind. An excellent incident is recounted in the book when Rajneesh asked his professor as to how many wives Aristotle the father of Logic in western thought had. The professor who was teaching logic was surprised and asked Rajneesh what he meant. Rajneesh replied that Aristotle had stated that women had fewer teeth than men. The professor asked what he meant by this. Rajneesh replied that Aristotle had two wives and yet made a statement that women had lesser teeth than men. He could have at least counted. This shows the brilliance of Rajneesh.

In his hey day his meditation techniques caught the imagination of many people and he did amass a vast following. What ever his faults Acharya Rajneesh did interpret the Hindu scriptures in a different manner. He was the man who gave a different connotation to tantric sex. In fact, he refined this age old theory of achieving God through sex. As per Hindu thought the spermatozoa of the man have divine capability and can generate ESP and other powers. As per tantric theory, the sperms of a man can collect at the base of the brain and ignite ESP powers. Rajneesh gave the sex act as per Tantra a different connotation. It differs greatly from the normal sex act. His theory was to conserve the sperms of a man for achieving eternal bliss.

The normal sex act as is the practice in the west results in a build up of excitement followed by a peak and then once the man reaches his peak the act is over. It is like a distribution curve with a high point in the centre. Rajneesh advocated tantric sex and conservation of the spermatozoa. He talked of eternal sex without orgasm. He wished man and woman to understand that sex was not a short term affair but a prolonged exercise without orgasm. He taught that a couple should remain in the act at the end as it was in the beginning. Osho taught that a man and a woman can have not one peak like in a normal sex act but a series of peaks in case you can control the sexual energy. You reach a peak and then calm down and then re-start. In this way, you can reach many peaks. The man and woman remain conjoined together. Movement only takes place when it is required to continue with the erection. Lovers can thus prolong their embrace for hours. This is in sharp contrast to a normal sex act which can appear furitive. The tantric orgasm, on the other hand, is deep and relaxing

As per Rajneesh, Tantric sex is different from a normal sex act. But it has to be learned. The difficulty is in getting a proper teacher. Tantric sex propels the lovers to a higher plane. When they reach this higher plane they will experience total bliss. Rajneesh felt that ejaculation as a waste of energy. But in case you follow tantric sex, the result will be a deep relaxation that will last for a long time. The end result is that your sexual energy is conserved and can be channelized to ignite the latent power inherent in the brain. Acharya Rajneesh is no more but his books and CD’s are available for all to read.

Was Dr Ward Correct? He Believed in Unity through Sex

Sex has been accepted as central to human thought. Freud and Jung have alluded to sex as a great motivating force. There is no doubt that when a man mates with a woman, it is an act of sublime pleasure that nothing can match. Food,  travel, and adventures are fine by themselves,  but they don't match sex in any way, which is something special. But there is a question. If sex is so sublime can it unite the human race? Can sex alone bring unity in a divisive world, if sex was free?

In this connection the case of Dr. Ward, a doctor is worth examining. Dr. Ward had also met Gandhi and was a well-known and respected figure in the top echelons of London society in the early fifties of the last century.

Dr. Ward had a tragic life and he was arrested and charged with living off earnings from prostitutes. He was tried and from the tenor and conduct of the judge, Dr. Ward concluded that he would be sentenced to a prison term. Before the day he was to be sentenced, Dr. Ward committed suicide with an overdose of sleeping pills.
The fact is the charge that Dr. Ward lived of earnings from prostitutes was simply not true. Ward lived,later it transpired believed in global unity through sex. He thus organized sex parties and black men mated with white women to the delight of onlookers. Many girls with Ward like Christine Keeper and Rice Mandy Davies became famous later on, or shall I use the word notorious?
Dr. Ward also invited the high and mighty to his parties, which sometimes took the form of orgies. General Ayub Khan and War Minister John Profumo are examples of the VIPs who attended.
Ward had seen through mirrors installed and sex was conducted for all to see and savor. He helped many poor girls, but sex was the ingredient. Dr. Ward believed that sex could unite races. It was a bizarre theory,  but he believed in it. He was of the view that once sex was free and blacks mated with white girls the racial barriers would break.
But I feel that Dr. Ward's theory is too simplistic. Sex is a metaphysical force that generates myriad emotions of love,hate, violence and much more. DR Ward never thought of these aspects. Perhaps pleasure was his main motive and for that, he cannot be faulted.

Tantra Sex and Path to God :What it Means

Many Western men and women are confused about that aspect of Hindu thought that says that one path to salvation is sex. This is a highly complex topic and to understand it requires the mind to be on a different plane.

Hinduism through the concept of Tantra preaches that one can achieve salvation through sex. This is a simple thought as a man and a woman orgasm, they achieve total bliss as nothing else.
Tantra is slightly different. It talks of a path to god where orgasm takes a back seat. The aim of Tantra is to prolong the sex act, so that a man and woman can orgasm any number of times. Thus when a man is approaching orgasm, he must stop it and rest till his excitement subsides. He can then after a time recharge himself. Tantra talks of many such orgasms. One of the weapons in the armour of Tantra sex is the tongue, a liberal use of which is a requirement on the woman sex and body

Sex is Path to God: Message of Iris Murdoch in her novel "The Black Prince"

Dame Iris Murdoch DBE was an Irish-born British author and philosopher, best known for her novels about good, evil and sexual relationships. Iris Murdoch wrote 'The Black Prince' in 1973. This was her fifteenth novel and alludes mainly to Hamlet, the character created by William Shakespeare.

The Black Prince The Black Prince is generally considered the best of Murdoch's novels. It won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize in 1973.Overall, she had the ability to merge philosophy and fiction and this is apparent in the main character Bradley Pearson in the novel. Bradley Pearson the main Protagonist Murdoch relates the novel though Bradley Pearson. He is a retired 58 year old Inspector of Taxes and has a dream of going to the country to write his book. His character is ambiguous as he bickers with his friend Arnold Baffin about the art of writing a book. Simultaneously he is enticed by Arnold's wife to sleep with her in an affair that is almost clinical. He also tutors the 20 year old daughter of Rachel and Arnold, Julian. His ex-wife Christian and her brother France along with his depressed sister turn up at his door. The Character of Bradley Pearson Bradley is struck by the arrow of Eros, the god of love. This changes his entire perception of life. Bradley changes to a man who is tender, as his love for Julian Baffin takes seed in his heart. He becomes almost infatuated with her. Despite this infatuation he decided to keep his love to himself, but love overpowers as he realizes that Julian also loves him. They meet and bare their souls to each other outside the Royal Opera house. This launches a whirlwind romance. Bradley and Julian love each other with passion and as their love blossoms.

Bradley and Ferocious Love and Sex '˜The Black Prince' becomes one of the most romantic works of literature. The lovers crave for each other and each encounter leaves them breathless for more. Bradley subtitles his memoir Celebration of Love. Murdoch uses the love of Bradley with a girl old enough to be his daughter to emphasize her point that sex itself is the great connective force to God and something that can be the most relaxing thing in life. The youthful Julian reciprocates the love of Bradley. Once she dresses up as Hamlet and so arouses Bradley that he makes ferocious love to her. Julian is the driving force and initiator for all that takes place. A Romantic fantasy The entire book is a romantic fantasy retold through the pen of Bradley. The character of Bradley Pearson has the same initials as the Black prince, B.P. Hamlet is the Black Prince and he faced tragedy, so does Bradley. Murdoch has created a character that is deeply emotional and philosophical. Dame Murdoch spent the last 5 years of her life with Alzheimer’s disease and died in 1999. Her husband was at her bedside.

How did the word Lesbian originate?

Lesbian is a word that is common now. It denotes love of a sexual nature between women. There was a time when being a Lesbian wad thought to a aberration. But now people understand that sexual love between two women is normal though deviant.

The word Lesbian is over 2500 years old. It is connected with the Greek poetess Sappho. She lived on the island of lesbos. The word Lesbian is based on the island of name where Sappho lived.

Sappho wrote passionate poetry about love and women. She believed that loving another woman in a sexual way was a normal affair. Her poetry is lovely and passionate. The word Lesbian thus is a tribute to the poetess Sappho who wrote passionate verses eulugising women. I am thankful that Sappho wrote these verses, for life is now that much more interesting. Painting a Woman in the Nude* 75

 As a youngster, I did have some talent to paint. More important my uncle Parduman was an excellent painter. It is a sad story that he died unsung and unheralded, but he was the man who ingrained in me the ethos of the art culture. Though I gave up painting, yet my interest in painting remained. My uncle also showed me the beauty of the female form.
I remember as a young boy, just growing up when he took me to an art class in the art school at Mumbai where a nude woman was being sketched by at least a dozen artistes.  The girl a darkish lady sat with bowed head and closed thighs as the artistes sketched her( including 3 lady students). There was no voyeurism involved and  everything appeared a clinical affair.
But now I can say that painting a nude is certainly not a clinical affair, but a labor of love and the expression of creativity. that is perhaps the reason that artistes like Amrita Shergill, jatin das,  Raja Ravi  Varma  in India and Dali and Picasso abroad have painted nudes. I remember in school we were taken to an art exhibition by the Russian painter Roerich.  He had a wonderful collection of nudes in the exhibition, which for all of us was a novelty.

The ancient Greeks and Indian all pained the female in the nude. perhaps while painting a nude an invisible spark emanates from an artistes brush. This can be the only reason that painter after painter has painted or sculpted nudes.
Lastly my uncle also had painted a nude and he showed it to me. I never asked who she was, she was certainly not my aunt.  Painting a nude is an expression of genius and everybody cannot rise to that level.

The Art of Undressing a Hindu Woman

It is very difficult to fathom its depth as it encompasses all aspects of human life from metaphysics of worshiping God to man's quest towards self realization through sex. They also mention that that undressing a woman is an art by itself. It is the first step in the path to eternal bliss.

Vatsyayansa the high priest of sex mentions that undressing a woman is of paramount importance. It is the path to gladden a woman. Hindu women have a different attire from the western and African women. The most common dress is a sari -which is a long wrap that is draped around the body and a blouse that fits the upper torso leaving the midriff bare. Some women may dress up in a ghagra which is in reality a loose skirt that touches the ankles and a chole or a blouse on top. Remember Hindu women are very fond of jewelry and high caste women will deck themselves with gold necklaces, ear rings and bangles. Even women of lower castes will adorn themselves with silver jewelry. A man must face the woman at the start and look her in the eye. This eye contact is important as it is the precursor to the next stage. This should be followed up with small kisses on the lips and soft words of endearment. It is important to carry the Hindu woman or lead her to the bed .

As a next step her blouse and bra unhooked . A lot of Hindu woman do not wear a bra and in that case slowly pay your homage to the peaks with your lips till the realization dawns on the woman that she is desired by the man. At the same time slowly take off her earrings and nibble the ears. Going down kiss her navel and then undo the cord of the Ghagra or the folds of the sari.

Once the woman has accepted you as her lover then remove her inner wear and gently part her thighs. Once you have done these things, you are on the way to possession of the woman.

The art of undressing a woman should not be thought of as an unnecessary appendage. It is something vital for the act of procreation. Hindu tantra theory shows sex as a path to God and that can only be possible when you follow the step by step initiation of the Hindu woman for the ultimate act.

Can Men and Women be Only Friends : What about Sex

When god created Adam he wanted to give him a mate and friend. He thus created a woman, who became the companion, friend and wife of Adam. Thus Eve appeared. If god wanted to let Adam have a man friend he would have created another man. This is the biggest statement against gays.

It is mentioned that Adam and Eve had sex and children and the human race began to grow. The story may be a myth, but it is a pointer to a man and woman's relationship. In other words man and a woman can never be just friends. There is a possibility that a man and woman may not have sex, but famous scientist like Freud and Dr Kinsey have concluded that sex will always be in the mind of man. He will fantasize about his woman friend and imagine how she looks in the nude.

There is nothing wrong with this as god created women for men. This is a difficult thought for some women who feel and act liberated. The fact is that all Hindu scriptures and the Bible not forgetting the Koran do mention a woman as a appendage to man. Thus there can never be friendship between men and women without a sexual connotation.
