Ever since General Cariappa accepted downgradation of the post of the Cin C to the Chief of army Staff, the Indian chiefs without exception have just sat in their chairs like pussy cats and gone into oblivion. Such men can only go where they belong - in the dust bin of history.
The river Ganga is not static and flows and flows and to condemn the past chiefs really leads no where as we all know, they were men of straw. One expects that times change and the present set of 3 chiefs led by General Dalbir Singh Suhag, Admiral Dhawan and Air Chief marshal Raha would have shown some spunk. But the fact is these men have led the the men they command down. I wonder what they must be thinking when they see themselves in the mirror ? They must be seeing that they are just pussycats and unworthy to lead martial warriors who have a tradition of battle and strife.
Thr 3 service Chiefs must answer some uncomfortable questions
> What did they do to support the One Rank One Pension agitation
.> Why did they sit through the Raksha Mantri's press conference when he mentioned the early retirement would not get the benefit of OROP
> What action they took after the RM announcement.
> Why cannot they stamp their foot down and ask for OROP. Is it a legitimate demand or not ? if its legitimate why did not they press this case.
> They are men who have to lead and present the cases of the men under them and are not mediators. Unfortunately these worthies have at no stage shown they are the main champions of the soldiers and airmen.
> How come the Chiefs keep sitting warming their chairs while hundreds of ex servicemen and widows are fasting for OROP. Do these men who claim to be 4 star generals have any shame ?
Obviously all this shows that the men are led by pussy cats and deserve a stick instead of a salute. Its so sad that the Indian general staff has let the men they command down again. Its like history repeating itself.
