Assessment of the Presidency of Barrack Obama

President Barrack Obama has been President for the last 7 years and now is coming to the fag end of his tenure. After the amendment passed by congress, the term of a US president has restricted to 2 four-year terms. This is to prevent the recurrence of a situation like when Roosevelt was elected president for 4 terms and died after nearing the end of his term.
Obama was the first colored American Negro to be president of USA, though strictly he was not a pure black as he had a white mother. Obama’s father was Moslem from Kenya and he earlier went to a Muslim school (a Madrasa). But later he converted to Christianity but many have had lurking suspicions about his real love for Christianity. Many wonder whether he in his heart had a soft corner for Islam Many Americans have brought forth evidence that  Obama sold the American state and the reason they  cite is his belief in Islam.
Frankly I don’t think Obama is a Muslim, but there is no doubt that he had a soft corner for Islam and he had little love for Israel. If I remember correctly he only visited Israel once and that also only in his second term. This just about shows his bias.
One wonders whether his bias in favor of Islam actually affected America’s interests in the world. One can see that he adopted a strong stand against North Korea but he almost treated the ISI with kid gloves till the Russians showed by a severe bombardment how the ISI could be beaten.
Obama was not a strong president, but one really can’t blame him for this as Congress was always ranged against him and many of his good intentions were squashed by Congress which had the Republican majority. Thus, Obama achieved nothing significant. Perhaps one aspect of his foreign policy is the patch up with the communist regime in Cuba. This was the gigantic step forward and after 60 years he reversed the irrational American policy. But in other spheres, he was tongue tied and some actions of his like bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia are difficult to explain.
Obama also mended fences with India, but his support to Pakistan was inexplicable. Especially as it were running terrorist camps. Obama blundered in removing the dictator of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak, and this folly allowed the Muslim brotherhood to have a say in Cairo, till the army jailed their leader Mohammed Morsi. His failure in Libya is palpable and his crude attempts to cover the killing of the US ambassador in Benghazi are an eye opener and one wonders whose interests he had in mind.
In short Obama was a lackluster president and achieved little. He just sat and went away and I am afraid his only contribution is that the USA came down in world esteem by a notch or two.

There Won't be another Black President in America

It was a quirk of fate that propelled Barack Obama as President of the United States of America. I am afraid there won't be another black president.  Obama became president  without majority support of the white community. The whites never expected he would become president and when he became president, it was a Teutonic shock for them, at least the majority.

What is the reason the whites never accepted him as one of them? The fact that he is Afro American went against him. His good work like not starting a fresh war, normalisation of relations with Cuba, war on terror , Obamacare among others were trashed. It was made out that he was the worst president America had. In reality he brought a lot of pragmatism to the presidency. He did in a way change the perception of America abroad. Unfortunately it did not gel with the whites.

On my visit to America, I found the Blacks and Latinos rooting for Obama but only a small minority  of whites felt Obama was a success.  To talk of  America as a land of opportunity must thus be taken with a pinch of salt.

Herman Cain Could have Made History

America has turned turtle since the early fifties. One could never think of a US President whose roots were colored, but it happened as Barack Obama became president of the USA. The last election threw up an interesting possibility, where there could have been a clash of two coloreds fighting for the top post. This is just hypothetical now, but when I think about it does intrigue me.
The man who had challenged Obama was Herman Cain a black with roots in the slave plantations of the Deep South as nominee for President of the Republicans. Cain was born in in 1945 and has had a checkered career with a stint in the Navy as civil employee.
In the primaries in October the year of the election Cain had surged ahead. In case he had won and been nominated it would have meant two blacks fighting for the post of the Chief Executive of the most powerful nation on earth.
Cain is a Baptist and unlike Obama has no connection with Islam. He is American in every aspect and married with 3 children and 2 grandchildren.  But I am afraid he blew his chances away forever by allegations of sexual misconduct.
Unfortunately Cain’s philandering caught up with him and he had to scratch from the race. But all said and done it was a far cry from the days when the dreaded white supremacy organizations like the KKK were running amuck and hunting Blacks like animals.
Lastly Cain in a response to Obamas state of the Union address delivered his speech at the National Press Club. The speech was telecast live on the Tea Party Express website. Cain referred to Obama's address as a "hodgepodge of liberal ideas," adding that there were "no big ideas that would impact job growth" and "no big ideas that would stimulate economic growth in this country".

Would Cain have been a better Black President?

I say to Obama, Don't Start What you Can't Finish

The US is beating the war drum. But before Obama and the USA bomb Syria they must look at their past. At least 3 Major conflicts stand out. Firstly there is Korea, nobody talks of it now, but it was a war the US fought for 3 years with 'ZERO' gains. At the end of it all it was back to square one and the 38 parallel remained as the border and so did North Korea. Then came Vietnam. Lyndon Johnson a man with a limited horizon ordered an escalation and later the US withdrew having suffered a colossal defeat. It was 10 years for nothing and thousands of US young men died in an elusive cause. Nobody again wants to talk about it now. Then came Afghanistan. Obama , the realist has realized there is no victory there and so has beat a hasty retreat. The USA will be quitting Afghanistan and more than likely the Taliban will take over. The US is now talking of Syria. This is sad as the US white think tank does not realize that such a campaign will suck in Israel and a bigger war cannot be ruled out. What will the USA do? Run turtle again? The attack on Syria will be a watershed and the Muslim ulema will have another handle. I pity Israel, friendless in the Middle east a country so tiny that one nuclear device will obliterate it. Obama better think !

Obama will be Appeasing the White Lobby in Attacking Syria

War clouds are hovering over American armed forces. One feels sorry for the young men who are bravely serving the nation, but its hard to reconcile that thousands of them are sent to death to fight an impossible dream. Successive US Presidents from Johnson to Bush have sent them to fight wars thousands of miles from home, only to die. One need not look back too far and remember that 5000 US servicemen died chasing an impossible dream of George Bush in Iraq. In any criminal tribunal Bush would have been indicted and punished, but he is is enjoying his retirement. Not a crease on his brow for getting 5000 servicemen killed to satisfy his ego.
Obama was an opponent of the Iraq war. He got the US army out of Iraq, but he is now a prisoner to a white stranglehold. That is perhaps one reason he is talking of a 'limited' strike against Syria. Strike against Syria? what for ? The reasons sound similar to the WMD stockpiled by Saddam and later it showed there were none. It was a big lie. Now there is talk off use of toxic gas. Obama , may not on his own like to intervene in Syria. He is hesitant so far. Any other President by now would have unleashed war in Syria. but Obama is a prisoner of the White caucus, who want war and I am afraid as a Negro blood man he has to show that he can be aggressive for America. The Whites in his cabinet want it.That is the genesis of the attack on Syria as and when it comes. Obama must assert himself and remember his days as a senator, when he had opposed interventionist wars.

Is American Democracy Flawed ? Only the Rich can get Elected

America is a democracy, but that is more in word than deed. The US president is arguably the most powerful man on this planet. There is no doubt on this score. But there is certainly a doubt as to whom the US president represents. Does he represent the common American citizen or the rich aristocracy ?

Starting with the big daddy of all George Washington who owned 300 slaves and 60,000 acres right down to the present challanger Mitt Romney, I can't think of a man who became US President in the 20th century who came from an improvished household. The fact is a man cannot become the President of the USA,who is himself not rich and has no money bags to back him. In that respect democracy in the USA is a flawed democracy.

There are exceptions like Lincoln, but that was from a bygone age and not at all possible. The present challanger, being labelled as the great 'white hope' to take on Obama is perhaps the richest of all US presidents in the present age and time.. His wealth estimated between $ 190 to 250 million dollars makes him 50 times richer than Obama. Though Obama is certainly not a poor man wjth an estimated wealth between $ 2.2 to 7.5 million. As far as Mitt Romney is concerned, he is way ahead of the Bush's and Carter. Mind you Romney has only disclosed only the broad outlines of what is his worth. His real worth may be double or triple of this disclosure.

Now we have another President hopeful in the shape of Donald Trump. Here is another man with millions, not forgetting Hillary Clinton who is has billions pledged to her by the Business community.

I wonder why the Americans cannot elect a man who is a commoner and lived with the common people. This presently is highly unlikely with the Presidency in the grip of the capitalists. Thus democracy in the USA is for the rich man. Can we see a poor man sit in the White House. That for me is the million dollar question.

My Take on Obama

http://yield2me.com/-59055.htm

I have been reading the debates going in the USA about Obama. Many people  refer to him as a Marxist or a communist in disguise and worse a friend of the Moslems (as he is one of them). Reminds me of the time when white supremacy was the watch word in the USA and organizations like KKK ran amuck, capturing and killing blacks. This facet of American history cannot be denied.
Times have however changed and the Black man has asserted himself, but that does not mean that he is any less a patriot or an American than the white man. A look at the history of the US army and its fights in Vietnam and other wars will show that as a percentage in relation to their population, more blacks fought for the US flag than the white man. But habits die hard and there is a lunatic fringe that just cannot accept Obama as a president of the USA. Weird statements and ‘revelations’ about his birth certificate, the fact that he is a communist are thrown about as if they are a gospel truth.
What is the fact really? How do we pin the ills of the past US Presidents (all white Men) who fought unprovoked wars all over the world and depleted the US economy with the result that it is in deficit of trillions of dollars. These costly wars served no purpose and in case in all of them the US never achieved its objectives. Take any war whether it is Iraq, Iran or Vietnam the US has swallowed the bitter pill If the economy is now going bust, how do you pin it on Obama?
Obama has inherited a legacy of wars and near bankruptcy of the economy and I feel he is doing a good job about it. Even his policy of calling a spade a spade in regard to Israel and Pakistan is commendable. The unfortunate part is that Obama’s middle name is Moslem and that is his drawback and fans the flames of a diehard minority in the USA. I want to know who the Americans want to replace Obama with. Another George Bush? Who will ensure that the US goes around with a begging bowl by unleashing some more wars?

Herman Cain Scratches from the Race Leaving Obama a Winner

The past caught up with Herman Cain. His life laced with sex outside marriage saw him tumble from a leader likely to get the Republican nomination to a zero. So he scratched from the race and that is that. But he was the leader in October till his down fall. It happens in politics, but the repercussions for the Republicans is not good. If anybody had half a chance to beat Obama it was Cain. The remaining contenders in the fray don't have the magnetism to challenge Obama.

Obama enters his run for the second term once again with Bidet as his running mate. Though Obama has lost a lot of ground since his election as President, I don't see any Republican being able to defeat him. Hence it could be an election victory by default. Obama wins as no worthwhile opponent is available, despite a state of disenchantment with the US voters. The economy is bad and jobs are hard to come by. There is  a 3 trillion dollar  deficit  and1/3rd of the economy is mortgaged to China. Not a happy thought.

But frankly all this is not Obama's fault as the 10 previous Presidents led by "Ike"  have contributed to this mess. Fighting costly wars and grand alliances, supporting and bank rolling  hard line Islamic regimes like Saudi Arabia and  dictators all over the world. The birds have come home to roost and the USA is in the eclipse mode. Wonder what the presidents like Ford, Bush , Reagan and Ike were thinking.  Did they think what they were doing ? arming the very men who were killing US soldiers like Pakistan ?

So Obama is not responsible. He inherited the problem and I suppose he deserves another chance. That is the best bet for America.
