Concept of Beauty in India is changing from Face to Body and Brain

India has an ancient civilization, perhaps the oldest in the world. Women have been part of this civilization since then. In addition the women have had their beauty extolled by poets and philosophers. Many  paintings of that period  give us a vivid picture of the beauty of women in Indian thought from those ages. The advent of Muslim rule led to a certain puritanism creeping into Indian thought and  the purdah and covering of a woman's body became the norm.
Earlier Indian sculptures ( before the invasion of Muslims) show women in their natural beauty. They are shown   nude with large hips and buxom breasts and narrow waists. The poems of that  period( prose was unknown  then ) extol the beauty of women. The criteria of beauty was fairness and lovely slim figure. However great stress was laid on the face and eyes, which formed the subject of innumerable verses. Fairness was one of the greatest virtues of beauty of a woman.
The  Indian concept of beauty was a little different from the western and Greek concept of beauty. In India the stress of beauty was  always the face. The body was mentioned , but only as a adjunct to the face. Beauty was closely associated with a fairness and the face. The concept of fairness was so deeply ingrained that even the dark Dravidian women aspired to be fair.
The Greek concept of beauty centered on the body and legs. The legs of a woman were given great importance in Greek and western concepts of beauty. Thus the ancient greek sculptors  show nude women with small breasts and lovely long legs. In India the legs did not have the same veneration as in Greek sculptor. One reason for this was the fact that in  India the legs were invariably covered with the type of dress worn here. The Muslim rule established a complete purdah system and if at all anything was extolled it was only the face. this was different from the western concept.

With the passage of time India is also changing and western concepts of beauty are creeping in. Now it is not uncommon for a woman's beauty be related to her overall body and legs. Thus beauty contests incorporate the bikini or the swim wear as part of the contest.  What a change from the past as India now catches up with its counterparts in the west

The Indian Man's Fetish for Beautiful Legs

I have been wondering what is the relation of legs and Indian girls and why the Indian man has a fetish to love and see legs of Indian girls. There is no denying the fact that even in a large and cosmopolitan city like Mumbai, men crave to see the legs of a girl. No wonder if one espies a girl in a skirt or shorts, an Indian man will not only ogle but dream of paying homage to the bare legs. I wonder why ?

Well the fact is that it has a lot to do with Indian culture, where down the ages the facial beauty was presented with little stress on human anatomy. Thus we find thousands of Roman and Greek sculptors with nude women, but no Indian. The second important point is the purdah introduced by the Muslims in India. This effectively secluded Indian women and created a mystery about them. Thus for centuries Indian men never saw the legs of a woman. as the women were in purdah.

After independence women have  ventured out, but the Indian dress the sari and the salwar Kameez, do not lend to display of legs. The legs are again covered and the Indian fascination grows as seeing legs is almost like eating the forbidden fruit.

Now people have realized that legs are a part of the beauty of a woman and that's the reason the swim wear pose is part of all beauty contests in the world and also in India. Indian men have thus a fetish for legs of girls and most men will die to see them, but times are changing and more and more girls are wearing shorts and skirts, but the fetish will not go away. Come to think of it, it's not something bad really?.

Indian Girls and Beautiful Legs

Legs are a part of  a woman’s allure and beauty. Women in the sub-continent mostly cover their legs with a sari or a shalwar kameez, but times are changing and the new breed of younger girls would not mind wearing dresses to showcase their legs. A conscientious effort will  bring the desired results

How can Indian Girls have Beautiful Legs

Legs have for long been regarded as an adjunct to the beauty of a woman. Unfortunately in Indian and Pakistani society the culture is to cover the legs, thus a sari  or a shalwar Kameez is the dress in vogue. This effectively covers the legs and women from the sub continent are apt to neglect this part of their anatomy.
The Greeks and Western society in contrast lay great stress on legs and one reason is that almost all of them bare their legs. Shorts, Skirts and dresses highlight beauty of legs. Having written this it is still important that Indian women look after their legs. Times are changing and the new breed of younger girls would like to display their legs. But this requires some hard work and the steps outlined below will go a long way in helping an Indian girl develop beautiful legs.

Step I.  Undress yourself before the mirror and see how your legs look.  Try and get out of the syndrome of covering your legs. This is important and once you are convinced that you would like to show case your legs the first step is taken

Step 2. The next step is to get your legs a smooth look. You will have to shave the hair on your legs. You could use a woman’s razor or if you don’t want to shave you could use the waxing method or the hair remover creams. It is better to shave or wax at night as your legs will get a nights rest and you can start the day straightaway.

Step 3. The next step is to get up in the morning and after a bath use leg make up. You could use a moisturizing cream and gently rub your legs with it. Maybe use could use a pinch of olive oil and massage your legs for a shiny look. This will entail some effort and you will have to spare time for it. In case you notice some skin problems like visible veins or pimples, consult a qualified dermatologist. Do not neglect anything.

Step 4. This involves a regular exercise regimen for your legs.  You could do it at home or in case you can afford it join the local gym.  You will have to do special exercises that tone up the legs. The exercise you could think of are heel raises, squats, jumping, jogging, cycling, or weight training. The clue to weight training is low weights and more reps.Take the help of a physical instructor. In case you know how to swim then a dip in the pool will be beneficial. But unfortunately the majority of girls from the sub continent because of lack of opportunity and social mores do not know how to swim.

Step5. Additional care. As Indian women always have their legs covered there is a good chance the legs will have a lighter shade than the arms and neck. Hence in case you plan on wearing a short skirt or dress   and you are fair, make it a point to apply a light color tan to the legs.

In case the above are religiously followed there is there is a good chance that you can showcase a lovely pair of legs
