Once upon a time, there was a king who fought a great war; he won a lot of battles and then he died away. Unfortunately for him, he did not have a chronicler or a historian to describe what all he had done and thus he went into oblivion. The lesson is that there must be somebody who will not only chronicle the events but also interpret them so that people can know what is the real truth. Keeping this in mind Group Captain MG Singh a senior officer of the Air Force has brought to the readers a chronicle of some famous battles fought during World War II
The book titled 'This is War' has been published on Amazon.com and Amazon.in and gives an account of some important and not so important battles of the world war. World War II was a watershed in world history and it is possible that's such a war and on so gigantic scale may never take place. The war that lasted six years sapped the energy of the world but at the same time brought to the fore the theory of warfare.A reading of this book will be an eye-opener as the author has introduced the reader to some very famous and also some not so famous battles but at the same time are extremely important. For those who are interested in military history and the theory of warfare then this book is certainly part of their curriculum.
