Indian Syndrome: Always the Conquered People

India is having big trouble with China and this is an ongoing process right from 1949 when China occupied  Tibet. In addition in 1947 Pakistan occupied 40% of Kashmir and Indians were only reacting. This has to be seen in perspective and the home minister recently in an interview said that India is not an aggressive country and history shows that India has never invaded any other country. He was trying to justify India's approach to China. Very true but he forgot to mention that India indeed did not invade any of the countries but allowed the invaders to come and overrule. That's right from 9th century the Hindus who are the main inhabitants of this country have always been ruled by others. That's for almost 1000 years the Hindu is the original inhabitants of the subcontinent were always the subjects and to practice their religion they paid the jizzia. I wonder if anybody should feel proud of this.

This negative mindset of the Hindus continues and right from Nehru to even the present leader, the Indians that is the Hindus are always reacting and there has never been any proactive action with the result even now in the standoff with China the negative mindset rules and all we keep asking is to China to vacate but  without having the muscle to push the Chinese out. More than the muscle it is the will power

which is lacking.

Indian Coinage During the Raj

Indian Coinage during British Period

Everybody knows that an Indian Rupee is made up of 100 paisa. But this coinage was introduced only in 1955. At that time the paisa was known as 'Nay paisa'. The earlier coinage had lasted for more than 2000 years. The old system was archaic, but was interesting. At that time a Rupee was made up of 16 Anna. In turn an Anna was made up of 4 Paisa. Thus a Rupee was made up of 64 paisa.

This system of coinage was rooted in antiquity and was followed all over India. When British came to India in 17/18 century they accepted this system of Rupee, Anna and Paisa. This continued for more than 8 years after British left India in 1947. In 1955 the Indian government decided that time had come to change to Metric system. The Anna was abolished and only paisa retained. Instead of 64 paisa, a Rupee was to have 100 paisa and a new counting age was ushered. India came abreast with the world. However old Anna and Paisa are avidly collected by coin collectors

Modi must bite the bullet on India China border dispute

Narendra Modi must bite the bullet and accept the 1960 Chinese proposal to settle the border dispute. That proposal made by Chinese Prime Minister Chou en Lai envisaged India giving up his claim on Aksai Chin and in return China agreeing for the Mac Mahan line as the border in the east. This is the best way to go forward as India does not have the military capability to take back Aksai Chin which they lost because of their own foolishness by not setting up any administration there.

History is nobodies friend and the mistakes committed by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru can never be rectified. this man allowed the Indian army to go to seed and he had no strategic vision and not only allowed China to capture Tibet  but also handed over Aksai Chin on a platter. The Chinese certainly relished it on their plate and now India can't get it back. The best course is now to accept the LAC as the de facto border and negotiate from there.

Agitations by Farmers has no Locus Standii

The farmers agitation has been continuing for 40 days and yet I do not see it finishing. What is the reason ? if there is a grievance it must be represented in the supreme court. Secondly any law passed in a country is applicable to all and it ill behoves the farmers of Punjab to insist that they represent all farmers of India.

It is about time the government cracked the whip. Incase as demanded by farmers the farm laws are  scrapped,  then it will be  like opening a Pandora box and tomorrow any other group even if in minority will start agitating and the government will have to cancel the laws.

There are are a lot of light weight politicians like Yogendra Yadav who are fanning the flames and they need to be arrested straight away, including Kejriwalwho tore  the central law in the Assembly. This is destruction of government property and he should be sent to Tihar Jail. Prime Minister Modi has to bite the bullet I wonder if he will do it?
